AN ACT CONCERNING ADDENDUMS TO CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE STATE AND ANY MUNICIPALITY IN WHICH A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY IS LOCATED.

SUMMARY:

This bill allows a municipal legislative body to seek and obtain an addendum to a contract that (1) is currently in effect between the municipality and a state agency and (2) relates to a correctional facility within the municipality that is owned or leased by the state and supervised by the Department of Correction (DOC) commissioner.

Agreements with Towns

Towns hosting prisons often have contracts with DOC on a number of issues, such as usage of the town sewer system, noise control, and fencing.
