AN ACT CONCERNING FORECLOSURE PROTECTION FOR LANDLORDS WHOSE TENANTS ARE UNEMPLOYED AND UNABLE TO PAY RENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 49 of the general statutes be amended to allow a landlord a defense in a foreclosure action, when the unemployment rate is high, that their tenants are unable to pay their rent because the tenants are unable to find employment.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow a defense for landlords in a foreclosure action that their tenants cannot pay rent because of unemployment and a locally high unemployment rate.
