AN ACT CONCERNING INSURANCE DEPARTMENT PUBLIC HEARINGS AND RATE INCREASES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that the Insurance Department hold a public hearing for health insurance premium rate increase requests greater than seven per cent.

Statement of Purpose:

To require that the Insurance Department hold a public hearing for health insurance premium rate increase requests greater than seven per cent.
