The House of Representatives was called to order at 11: 34 o'clock a. m. , Representative Gentile of the 104th District in the Chair.
Prayer was offered by Assistant Chaplain, Reverend Garland D. Higgins of West Hartford, Connecticut.
The following is the prayer:
Let us pray. We ask Your blessing on our legislators as they serve in their elected offices. Guide their deliberations so that the good of all will be served. Amen.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Staples of the 96th District.

JUDICIARY
H. B. No. 5484 (RAISED) JUDICIARY. 'AN ACT CONCERNING THE FAILURE OF A WITNESS TO REPORT A SERIOUS CRIME COMMITTED AGAINST A CHILD', to require a person who witnesses a serious crime being committed against a child under sixteen years of age to report that crime to a law enforcement official.
H. B. No. 5485 (RAISED) JUDICIARY. 'AN ACT CONCERNING THE OFFICE OF THE VICTIM ADVOCATE', to require the advisory committee to the Office of the Victim Advocate to make recommendations to the General Assembly on how to improve the effectiveness of the office in carrying out its responsibilities.
H. B. No. 5486 (RAISED) JUDICIARY. 'AN ACT CONCERNING RESIDENCY RESTRICTIONS FOR REGISTERED SEXUAL OFFENDERS', to protect children from convicted sexual offenders by requiring that convicted sexual offenders reside at least two thousand feet away from a school or child care center.
