AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ELECTRONIC TOLLS AT THE STATE'S BORDERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Department of Transportation shall immediately initiate all actions necessary for the establishment of electronic tolls at the state's borders. Commencing July 1, 2010, and monthly thereafter, the Commissioner of Transportation shall submit a progress report on such actions during the preceding month to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to transportation.


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To establish tolls at Connecticut's borders and create a source of revenue for the Connecticut's Special Transportation Fund.
