OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment requires the General Assembly to pass legislation implementing the separation of petitioning towns from probate districts established under the bill provided any such town reimburses the Probate Court Administration Fund (PCAF) for premiums paid for judges' and employees' health care coverage. To the extent that such legislation is enacted there is a potential reduction in the savings to the PCAF identified in the bill as amended associated with judges' compensation, clerk and assistant clerk salaries, and other costs associated with individual probate courts.
