AN ACT CONCERNING CANADIAN-AMERICAN DAY.

SUMMARY:

This bill requires the governor to annually proclaim June 24 Canadian-American Day. She must do so to honor Americans of Canadian ancestry, their culture, and the contributions they made to America. The day must be observed through exercises held at the Capitol and other places the governor designates. June 24 is a national holiday in Quebec honoring St. Jean Baptiste (St. John the Baptist).
