AN ACT CONCERNING EXPENDITURES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND THE CONSTITUENT UNITS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.

SUMMARY:

The bill requires the Department of Higher Education to review the programs and services administered or provided by the agency in order to assess the effectiveness and the benefits of such programs and services and assign priority for their continued funding. The agency shall submit its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies not later than January 1, 2010 and annually thereafter.
