AN ACT CONCERNING ENHANCED PENALTIES FOR THE COMMISSION OF CRIMES WITH ILLEGAL OR UNREGISTERED FIREARMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that the sentence for a crime shall be enhanced if a person uses a firearm in the commission of such crime for which the person does not have a permit or license, which is not registered or licensed or which is otherwise illegal for such person to possess.

Statement of Purpose:

To require enhanced criminal sentences for the commission of crimes using illegal or unregistered guns.
