AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL CRIMINAL DOCKET FOR MILITARY VETERANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a special criminal docket for military veterans separate from the regular criminal docket to handle cases of returning military veterans who are accused of committing crimes which may be related to mental illness or substance abuse problems suffered due to military service.
Statement of Purpose:
To address the special needs of returning military veterans who are accused of committing crimes by establishing a special criminal docket for military veterans.
