AN ACT CONCERNING AUTOMOBILE LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE AND GUIDE DOGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 700 of the general statutes be amended to specify that a guide dog is deemed to be tangible property for the purposes of automobile liability insurance policies, and if a guide dog is injured or killed by an insured motor vehicle, such injury or destruction shall be compensable to the owner of such guide dog under the property damage provision of such policy.
Statement of Purpose:
To require automobile insurers to pay for expenses arising from the injury or destruction of a guide dog by an insured motor vehicle.
