AN ACT CONCERNING THE POSTING OF NOTICES BY MUNICIPALITIES ON THE INTERNET.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 1-225 of the general statutes be amended to (1) delay implementation of the requirement that towns post notices on the town web site, (2) authorize towns that comply with Freedom of Information requirements to post minutes on its web site not more than fourteen days after a meeting, (3) eliminate the requirement to post special meeting notices within twenty-four hours, and (4) provide that notices be posted only on web sites used for official business.

Statement of Purpose:

To provided local taxpayer relief from an unfunded mandate regarding posting of municipal information on web sites.
