Explanation

It is anticipated that the Department of Children and Families (DCF) could make reasonable efforts to notify adoptive parents of children (formerly committed to the Commissioner of Children and Families) about relatives of the child known to the agency as residing in Connecticut within the agency's normally budgeted resources.

However, should the amendment be interpreted to require DCF to locate or verify locations of such relatives prior to notification, a potential cost would be incurred to support staff time needed to perform these responsibilities.
