AN ACT CONCERNING EXPENDITURES FOR THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

SUMMARY:

The Commissioner of Education shall review the programs administered by the department in order to: (1) evaluate the cost-effectiveness and benefits of such programs, and (2) assign priority for the continued funding of such programs. The commissioner shall submit findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies not later than January 1, 2009, and annually thereafter.
