AN ACT CONCERNING A PILOT PROGRAM FOR HOST COMMUNITIES THAT PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES AND SUPPORTIVE HOUSING SERVICES TO VETERANS AND THE HOMELESS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 12-20a of the general statutes be amended to include nonprofit facilities that provide community-based mental health services, substance abuse services or supportive housing services to veterans or homeless persons among the types of real property located in municipalities that qualify for state grants in lieu of the lost property tax revenue.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide greater financial incentives for cites and towns that host nonprofit community-based entities providing an array of services to veterans and homeless persons.
