"AN ACT CONCERNING PROCEEDINGS AND OPERATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. "

After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2008) Upon termination of parental rights of a child pursuant to section 17a-112 of the general statutes and a final decree approving the adoption of such child pursuant to section 45a-727 of the general statutes, the adoptive parents of any child with a Social Security number shall obtain a new Social Security number for such child. "
