"AN ACT CONCERNING PROCEEDINGS AND OPERATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. "

After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2008) Upon termination of parental rights of a child pursuant to section 17a-112 of the general statutes and a final decree approving the adoption of such child pursuant to section 45a-727 of the general statutes, the Department of Children and Families shall make reasonable efforts to notify adoptive parents of whether any of the child's biological parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts or uncles reside in this state, subject to any confidentiality requirements established by law. "
