AN ACT CONCERNING METHAMPHETAMINES.
AMENDMENT
LCO No.: 7397
File Copy No.: 554
House Calendar No.: 86
OFA Fiscal Note
REDUCES POTENTIAL COST IN BILL
The amendment reduces the potential cost of incarceration and probation supervision by deleting provisions in the bill that: (1) increase the criminal penalty for trafficking in drug paraphernalia; and (2) establish a mandatory minimum prison sentence for any non-drug dependent person who sells amounts of methamphetamine-type substances over certain thresholds. The amendment also makes changes related to the sale at retail of certain drug products, which has no fiscal impact.
The preceding Fiscal Impact statement is prepared for the benefit of the members of the General Assembly, solely for the purposes of information, summarization and explanation and does not represent the intent of the General Assembly or either chamber thereof for any purpose.
