AN ACT ELIMINATING THE DISCLOSURE OF PHYSICIANS' SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS ON HEALTH INSURANCE CLAIM FORMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) eliminate the requirement that physicians include their Social Security numbers on health insurance claim forms, and (2) specifically authorize physicians to use personal identification numbers on such claim forms.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect the confidentiality of physicians' Social Security numbers.
