AN ACT REQUIRING DISCLOSURE OF THE USE OF CREDIT HISTORIES IN THE UNDERWRITING OF CERTAIN INSURANCE POLICIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 700 of the general statutes be amended to require each insurance company that issues personal automobile liability and homeowners insurance policies in this state to disclose to consumers whether or not such insurance company is using the credit histories of the consumers in its underwriting practices for such insurance policies.
Statement of Purpose:
To inform consumers regarding the use of their credit histories in the underwriting of personal automobile liability and homeowners insurance policies.
