AN ACT CONCERNING AN ALTERNATE ROUTE TO CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR ADMINISTRATORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2007) The Department of Higher Education, in consultation with the Department of Education, shall establish, within available appropriations, a pilot alternate route to certification program for school administrators. The program shall include mentored apprenticeships.
Sec. 2. (Effective July 1, 2007) The sum of three hundred twelve thousand eight hundred twenty-six dollars is appropriated to the Department of Higher Education, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, for the purposes of section 1 of this act.
Sec. 3. (Effective July 1, 2007) The sum of three hundred fifteen thousand six hundred seventy-eight dollars is appropriated to the Department of Higher Education, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, for the purposes of section 1 of this act.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

To develop and fund an alternate route to certification program for school administrators.
