AN ACT PROHIBITING TAMPERING WITH OR ALTERING AN AIR SOFT WEAPON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that any person who tampers with or alters the distinctive marking of an air gun that is a replica of a real firearm shall be fined one hundred dollars and such weapon shall be confiscated, and if such person is under eighteen years of age, the parent or guardian of such minor shall be fined one hundred dollars.

Statement of Purpose:

To increase public safety by prohibiting the alteration of a replica firearm that expels a projectile through the force of air pressure.
