AN ACT PROHIBITING JUSTICES OF THE PEACE COLLECTING SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER INFORMATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit justices of the peace from collecting Social Security number information.

Statement of Purpose:

To protect individual privacy and reduce the possibility of identity theft.
