AN ACT CONCERNING THE REPORTING OF THE LOSS OR THEFT OF A FIREARM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that any person who possesses a firearm to report the loss or theft of such firearm to the local police department or resident state trooper within seventy-two hours.
Statement of Purpose:
To assist the police in tracking lost or stolen firearms and solving crimes by requiring the owner of a firearm that has been lost or stolen to promptly report such loss or theft to a law enforcement agency.
