AN ACT PROHIBITING PRETEXTING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit an individual obtaining or attempting to obtain personal identifying information or personal records of another individual under false pretenses.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit "pretexting" where an individual poses as another individual to gain access to such other individual's personal identifying information or records.
