AN ACT CONCERNING CELLULAR TOWERS IN RESIDENTIAL ZONES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 16-50a of the general statutes be amended to create a list of preferred hierarchy of zoning locations for placement of cellular towers, with residential zones used only after all other siting options have been considered and found unusable and to require the Siting Council to direct any cellular tower applicant who proposes siting in a residential zone to disguise the cellular tower.
Statement of Purpose:
To give residential homeowners the greatest protection possible when cellular towers are sited in residential areas.
