AN ACT INCREASING FUNDING FOR COURTHOUSE SECURITY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That (1) the sum of one million dollars be appropriated to the Judicial Department, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, to fund an evaluation of security in courthouse parking areas, and (2) the sum of nine million dollars be appropriated to the Judicial Department, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, to fund the installation of security systems.

Statement of Purpose:

To enhance security for members of the public who use state courthouses by increasing funding for related security evaluations and systems.
