AN ACT CONCERNING SALES TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR FUEL EFFICIENT MOTOR VEHICLES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 219 of the general statutes be amended to extend the sales tax exemption on hybrid vehicles to all motor vehicles that achieve forty miles per gallon in either highway or city driving.

Statement of Purpose:

To further encourage energy conservation and reduction of pollution and global warming.
