AN ACT CONCERNING SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS AND INDIVIDUAL PRIVACY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
To amend the general statutes to require individuals and business entities who maintain records containing social security numbers of other persons to delete such numbers from their records not later than January 1, 2010, with the exception of employers, who may continue to maintain records containing social security numbers of their employees.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect the privacy of individuals by requiring the deletion of social security numbers from certain records.
