AN ACT CONCERNING ENERGY AND TECHNOLOGY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2007) The Department of Public Utility Control shall initiate a docket to determine ways of improving energy efficiency in low-income housing. The department shall report the results of such docket to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to energy on or before February 1, 2008.
Sec. 2. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2007) The Department of Public Utility Control shall initiate a docket to develop Connecticut-based renewable technologies. The department shall report the findings of such docket to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to technology on or before February 1, 2008.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

AN ACT CONCERNING ENERGY AND TECHNOLOGY.
This bill requires the Department of Public Utility Control (DPUC) to initiate two proceedings, one to determine ways of improving energy efficiency in low-income housing and the second to develop Connecticut-based renewable technologies. DPUC must report the findings of both proceedings to the Energy and Technology Committee by February 1, 2008.
