STUDENT TO ADMINISTRATOR RATIOS IN CONNECTICUT AND NEIGHBORING STATES
By: Soncia Coleman, Associate Legislative Analyst
You wanted to know the student to administrator (including principals and assistant principals) ratio in Connecticut public schools and those of neighboring states.
The table below shows the (1) total student enrollment, (2) total number of administrators, and (3) number of students for every administrator for Connecticut and neighboring states for fall 2003 (the most recent data available). The data was taken from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) 2005 Digest of Education Statistics (released on August 10, 2006). Located within the U. S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences, NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing education-related data.
