HOSPITAL SALARIES | ||
| ||
By: John Kasprak, Senior Attorney | ||
You asked for an update of OLR Report 2000-R-0287 which addresses (1) the 10 highest paid positions in Connecticut hospitals and (2) the highest paid position at each hospital.
State law requires each short-term acute care general or children's hospital to report annually to the Office of Health Care Access (OHCA) the salaries and fringe benefits for its 10 highest paid positions (CGS 19a-644a). PA 06-64 eliminates a requirement that this reporting include average salaries of administrative, supervisory, and direct services personnel in each hospital department by job classification. This act did not change the reporting of the hospitals' 10 highest paid positions.
Table 1 presents the 10 highest paid positions in Connecticut hospitals for FY 2005 as reported to OHCA. Table 2 provides the highest paid position in each hospital for FY 2005 as reported to OHCA.
