"AN ACT PROHIBITING THE SALE OF ELECTRONIC DEFENSE WEAPONS. "

After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (Effective July 1, 2006) (a) The sum of one million dollars is appropriated to the Department of Public Safety, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, for use by the Division of State Police, for the purpose of establishing and funding cooperative agreements with the five municipalities in this state with the highest incidence of crimes committed with illegal firearms in order to provide cooperative enforcement of the laws of this state concerning the distribution and possession of firearms pursuant to the state-wide firearms trafficking task force established pursuant to section 29-38e of the general statutes.

(b) The sum of one million dollars is appropriated to the Department of Public Safety, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, for use by the Division of State Police, for the purpose of establishing and funding cooperative agreements with the five municipalities in this state with the highest incidence of crimes committed with illegal firearms in order to provide cooperative enforcement of the laws of this state concerning the distribution and possession of firearms pursuant to the state-wide firearms trafficking task force established pursuant to section 29-38e of the general statutes. "
