OFA Fiscal Note
The amendment requires that an unreported lost or stolen firearm that has been used in a crime be destroyed and the owners permit revoked by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) . The amendment will result in a minimal cost to the DPS associated with the administrative and procedural tasks of revoking a permit, and the appeals process which individuals are entitled to enter into once their permit has been revoked.
