AN ACT CONCERNING FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE FOR EMPLOYEES OF MUNICIPALITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2006) Each municipality shall grant any employee of such municipality, except an employee of any local or regional board of education, the same family and medical leave as is provided for state employees under section 5-248a of the general statutes.


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
Section 1	October 1, 2006	New section

Statement of Purpose:

To extend the family and medical leave available to state employees to employees of municipalities.
