AN ACT CONCERNING THE HEATING, PIPING, COOLING AND SHEET METAL WORK BOARD.

SUMMARY:

This bill restricts who on the 12-member Heating, Piping, Cooling, and Sheet Metal Work Board may consider and act on sheet metal work issues. Under the bill, the sheet metal contractor; the sheet metal journeyman who must be a member of a trade union; two unlimited heating, piping, and cooling work contractors who are not affiliated with a trade union; and the four public members may act on sheet metal issues. Currently, all 12 members act on these issues. The other members are: an unlimited heating, piping, and cooling work contractor and three unlimited heating, piping, and cooling work journeymen who are members of a trade union. By law, the sheet metal work members may only consider matters affecting sheet metal work.
