AN ACT EXTENDING FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE COVERAGE TO STATE AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the definition of "employer" in section 31-51kk of the general statutes be amended to include the state, municipalities and local or regional boards of education, so that employees of such entities shall be covered under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.

Statement of Purpose:

To give all state and local employees in Connecticut the benefits of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.
