AN ACT CONCERNING ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION OTHER THAN SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require state agencies and businesses to accept a form of identification other than a person's Social Security number unless such Social Security number is needed to prove citizenship for employment purposes.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect an individual's Social Security number from being stolen.
