AN ACT CONCERNING PRESCRIPTION DRUG LABELS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2005) The Commissioner of Public Health, in consultation with the Commissioner of Consumer Protection, shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, to assure that information about the reason for taking a prescription drug for a particular patient is readily available to such patient who is prescribed such drug and requests such information from a licensed pharmacist upon the filling or refilling of a prescription for such prescription drug.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To assist persons in remembering why their doctor has prescribed a particular prescription drug for them.
