AN ACT CONCERNING PRESCRIPTION DRUG LABELS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 370 of the general statutes be amended to require all licensed pharmacists dispensing prescriptions and all health care institutions or facility pharmacies to include on each prescription label, at the request of the patient, information about the purpose for which the drug is being prescribed.

Statement of Purpose:

To ensure that information about the purpose of a prescription drug is readily available to any patient who is prescribed the drug and requests such information.
