AN ACT INCREASING THE THRESHOLDS FOR APPLICATION OF THE PREVAILING WAGE RATE FOR PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (g) of section 51-53 of the general statutes be amended to provide that prevailing wage rates shall not apply to new construction of a public works project where the total cost of all work performed by contractors and subcontractors on such project is less than one million dollars and shall not apply to any remodeling, refinishing, refurbishing, rehabilitation, alteration or repair of any public works project where the total cost of all work performed by contractors and subcontractors on such project is less than five hundred thousand dollars.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the thresholds for application of the prevailing wage rates.
