AN ACT CONCERNING APPROVAL OF CLINICAL TRIALS BY STATE HOSPITALS AND UNIVERSITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit any institutional review board at a state hospital or university from approving a clinical trial, unless (1) the results of the trial will be made available to physicians and the public, and (2) the trial will be registered with the National Institutes of Health for inclusion in its online database of clinical trials.

Statement of Purpose:

To make the results of clinical trials available to the public.
