AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS ON INSURANCE IDENTIFICATION CARDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 42-470 of the general statutes be amended to clarify that effective July 1, 2005, health insurers shall be prohibited from printing Social Security numbers on enrollee identification cards.

Statement of Purpose:

To clarify the prohibition on health insurers printing Social Security numbers on enrollee identification cards.
