AN ACT CONCERNING IMPLEMENTATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS MADE BY THE CHILD POVERTY COUNCIL.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 4-67x of the general statutes be amended to provide that the Child Poverty Council shall set forth legislative measures that will ensure that the number of children living in poverty is reduced by not less than ten per cent during the biennium commencing on July 1, 2005.

Statement of Purpose:

To begin implementation of the ten-year plan that will reduce the number of children living in poverty by fifty per cent over the next ten years.
