AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISCLOSURE OF CONSUMER AND PRIVATE FINANCIAL INFORMATION BY COMMERCIAL LENDERS AND RETAILERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to prohibit any commercial lender or retailer from disclosing any consumer and private financial information to any other person, firm or corporation unless such consumer has affirmatively consented to such release.
Statement of Purpose:
To replace current "opt out" laws regarding the release of consumer and private financial information with "opt in" laws.
