"AN ACT CONCERNING SCHOOL NUTRITION. "

Strike sections 3 and 4 in their entirety

After the last section, add the following and renumber sections and internal references accordingly:

"Sec. 501. (Effective July 1, 2005) The Department of Education shall survey each local and regional board of education to determine the obesity rates at each school under the jurisdiction of each board. Each board shall report the survey results to the Department of Education. Not later than February 1, 2006, the department shall report its findings, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education. "
