You asked for a breakdown of state employees by department or agency.

The following data shows the breakdown of permanent, full-time state employees. It was provided by the Comptroller’s Office using the CORE-CT financial management system.

The list includes employees of quasi-public agencies, such as the Connecticut Development Authority and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. While employees of these authorities may be paid from sources other than state funds, the employees are considered state employees for pension and benefits purposes and are typically included in the count of state employees.

Table 1 shows the information listed by agency name in alphabetical order. Table 2 shows the agencies with more than 1,000 employees listed by employee count.
