MARIJUANA POSSESSION AND RELATED OFFENSES

You asked for Judicial Department statistics on case dispositions and fines for possession of less than four ounces of marijuana (CGS 21a-279(c)) or possession of drug paraphernalia (CGS § 21a-277(c)) during the last fiscal year. The following information was provided by legislative liaison Stephen Ment.

Total revenue from fines and forfeitures under CGS § 21a-279(c) was $ 279,829; revenue data is not available concerning CGS § 21a-277(c) offenses. No recidivism data was available from the department.
