You asked if identity fraud insurance is available in Connecticut and if not, why. You noted that a particular insurance company informed you that it was not available.
According to the Connecticut Insurance Department, identity fraud insurance is available in Connecticut. The department noted that the following companies, and possibly others, sell this type of insurance:
1. Travelers
2. Truck Insurance Exchange
3. USAA Casualty Insurance Company
4. Arbella Protection Insurance Company
5. Liberty Mutual Insurance Company
6. Harleysville Worcester Insurance Company
7. Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company
The particular insurance company mentioned in your request may have made a business decision to not offer such insurance in Connecticut.
