You asked for a town-by-town list of SAGA and GA cash assistance recipients.
Table 1 provides a breakdown, by town, of the average SAGA and GA (Norwich) cash assistance caseload for FY 2001-02 (the latest town-by-town data readily available). As you can see, the total number of recipients exceeds, by approximately 100, the total number of cases. Although most cash assistance recipients are single individuals (one recipient households), approximately 500 families representing about 600 recipients, also received SAGA or GA cash assistance during the fiscal year. These families do not qualify for Temporary Family Assistance benefits but their cash benefit is the same. (It is not clear whether these family cases would be subject to the benefit reductions proposed in the FY 2003-05 budget. )
